On 27 February 2025, poltextLAB organized a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) introductory training at the HUN-REN Centre for Social Sciences, aimed at researchers and data stewards. The training focused on the effective and secure application of generative AI tools in research processes.
The training was led by Miklós Sebők, director of poltextLAB, and Rebeka Kiss, researcher at poltextLAB, who provided both theoretical and practical insights into how generative AI functions and can be applied in research.
The course covered three key areas:
1️⃣ Fundamentals of generative AI – AI development, large language models, and their applications in research.
2️⃣ Introduction to prompt engineering – Hands-on exercises on effective prompt-writing techniques and selecting the right AI models.
3️⃣ Using generative AI in research – Applications in research, including data collection, text analysis, hypothesis formulation, and ethical considerations.
